The fourth plane, Flight 93, was crashed into an empty field where passengers bravely fought back, quite possibly saving countless lives. The Aftermath In total, the attacks took the lives of 2,977 people from over 93 nations with 2,753 people in New York; 184 at the Pentagon; and 40 from Flight 93.
