The set contains a Type 1 coin with the original American Eagle Silver Coin designs and a Type 2 coin with the new designs. The Type 1 coin was struck at the West Point Mint, and the Type 2 coin was struck at the San Francisco Mint. The obverse of the Type 1 coin displays Adolph A. Weinman's full-length figure of Lady Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The coin's reverse features former Chief Engraver John Mercanti's rendition of a heraldic eagle, with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left. Inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, " "E PLURIBUS UNUM, " 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, " and "ONE DOLLAR. The obverse of the Type 1 coin features a refreshed depiction of Adolph A.
The reverse features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to a nest. The set comes with the mint box and a Certificate of Authenticity.
